Few days back I wrote about Plagiarisma.Net service and its free Desktop Application. Recently I got to know about a new online service PlagTracker that does the same basic job i.e. checks text for copied content.

Desktop Plagiarism Checker Checks the Uniqueness of your Write Up
We, the humans learn to speak by imitating the expressions of our parents. We learn to think and decide by seeing our parents and teachers or idols. Imitation is thus a human nature. But since 18th Century, Close Imitation or Plagiarism is considered as a dishonesty in some genre, "prominently in the sectors of academia and journalism, where plagiarism is now considered academic dishonesty and a breach of journalistic ethics, subject to sanctions like expulsion and other severe career damage." Conversely if your article is copied in another place or website or journal, there is a huge chance that the demand of the original article will decrease resulting in severe economical damage of the original contributor.
Often Plagiarism happens unintentionally. I have found that some
expressions in my blog are the guilty of Plagiarism while I haven't
copied anything from others. This is mainly because I have similar way of expressing things as many others. But I can get the same penalty as others who did things intentionally.
So, checking an article for Plagiarism before publishing is a must if
you don't want to get any kind of copyright infringement notice from any
company or organization.
Plagiarisma.Net is a Online Plagiarism Checker that:
".... helps to scan documents of any type for plagiarism, and you really owe it to yourself to run your documents through it before you submit them, if you’re a student, blogger, writer or grade them in case you’re a teacher. It also may benefit you as a business owner when you order content, and pay money for it, to make sure whether the content you ordered is 100% original.
...... will check your document in depth, as it includes database of millions upon millions of papers, assignments, and articles. It also cross references your document against both live and cached copies of documents on the Internet, including message boards, public PDFs, forums, blogs, and all of that is done automatically and in real time."
It also provides a Plagiarism Software which helps in doing everything without the need to open a browser window.

CCFinder: A desktop application to easily search Images with Creative Commons License
If you want to share any image or video without the risk of infringing copyright, you should definitely use Creative Commons Search (CC Search).
According to them their goal is
...give everyone from individual creators to large companies and institutions a simple, standardized way to keep their copyright while allowing certain uses of their work — a “some rights reserved” approach to copyright — which makes their creative, educational, and scientific content instantly more compatible with the full potential of the internet.
CC Search is not a search engine "but rather offers convenient access to search services provided by other independent organizations".
German company Abelssoft has taken the initiative to integrate CC Search in a desktop application through their tool CCFinder to find images with Creative Commons License.
