Windows Installation can get corrupted due to a number of reasons: virus infections, using badly programmed softwares (like registry cleaners), incompatible softwares being the main reasons. The most common solution to this is to do a clean format. But formatting could be a serious issue for many of us; backing up data, taking proper backup of installed softwares, setting up a newly formatted system to a state as workable as the previous one take up lots of time. So, it is always advisable to consult an expert before making any bold decision. But experts usually don't come up free!
