Ashampoo Photo Commander 10 is coming: Review and Giveaway

Playing with photos is a fun and when you have a software as rich in features as Ashampoo Photo Commander, the fun becomes excitement. Ashampoo Photo Commander from Ashampoo GmbH is such an awesome application. Although almost complete in features, Ashampoo still is packing the software with more appealing features every year. They are cooking version 10 of the software presently which will be released on 18th of this month. Being a fan of photo editing software I didn't wait to try the beta version and as expected I had a pleasant time with Ashampoo Photo Commander 10 even though it was in beta.

Features and Specifications

• Large installer (~133 Mb) signed by Ashampoo GmbH & Co. KG.
• Multilingual software. Supports 23 Languages. If you want to translate the software in your language, use the language editor.
• It chooses Express Installation by default by which it installs the software for all users, creates Desktop and Quick Launch icons, installs MyAshampoo toolbar, homepage and search engine. If you don't like have those browser addons you are suggested to follow the suggested installation option.
• After installation it does not open the application by default. Rather it opens a registration webpage after finishing installation. That Registration will extend your default 10 days trial to 30days.
• You can open the software from Start Menu or from the Desktop icon.
• After launching the software you will be greeted with a welcome screen showing the common tasks you want to do with Ashampoo Photo Commander 10.

• It supports 54 image formats, 18 audio formats, 34 video formats.
• The software has quick access toolbars for performing actions quickly.

• You can import and export settings of the software for using the same settings in multiple places or to use the same settings even after re-installation or a reformat.

System Requirements

Any computer that runs one of the above operating systems. You need a graphic-card with a resolution of

least 1024 x 768. Furthermore the program requires a mouse or a
compatible pointing device and optional a CD- or DVD-Recorder for the production of Photo-CDs resp.

RAM and disk space:
Min. 256 MB RAM, Hard Disk Space 170 MB
Software:
To send files by e-mail you need a MAPI-compatible e-mail client like MS Outlook, MS Outlook Express or Mozilla Thunderbird.
To create PDF-files you need to have a PDF reader installed on your computer.

My Verdict

Ashampoo Photo Commander 10 is an excellent software. It has an attractive but user friendly GUI. Quick Tutorials make the use of the software easier. Also it has a well-documented help file. Memory usage of the software is also low.

Finally, although I respect Ashampoo for their exciting softwares I dislike their policy about including toolbar in their shareware products.
Download and Purchase
The final version of Ashampoo Photo Commander 10 will release on 18th April. But the beta version is available to download and try. Please remember that beta versions are for testing and not for any productive use.
Ashampoo Photo Commander 10 will cost $49.99 for a personal license while existing users of version 9 can upgrade at a cost of $19.99. If you Pre-order the software until April 17th, 2012, you can get it at a discounted price of $29.99.
