Movie Saver can Download Streaming Videos of High Quality

Online video sharing sites like Youtube, Dailymotion, Metacafe etc are a very good places to find Video Tutorials, Movie Trailers and even full free movies. While viewing those online is good for users with high connection speed it is usually a pain for users with slow internet speed to view them online. More over it would always be a good to keep those useful videos for offline use in Presentation etc. There are a number of tools that do this and Movie Saver from Engelmann Media GmbH is one of those.

Features

• Small, digitally signed installer (7.43 Mb). Clean and fast installation. Creates Desktop and Quick Launch icons by default. Opens webpage at installation end.
• The software is multilingual: 3 languages are supported.
• Splash screen at program launch which can be disabled.
• Although its a free software it has to be registered with a license key. For free license enter a valid Email Address and Name in the following link.

• Enter your license in the following link. Use "insert from clipboard" to automatically insert the license.
• The GUI is easy to use but not very attractive. It can download High Quality videos if available.

Main GUI

• The software supports downloading streaming video from a number of sites: Youtube, Google Video, Sevenload, MyVideo, Clipfish, Dailymotion, Yahoo! Video, MySpace Video, Spike/IFilm, blip.tv, metacafe, vimeo.
• It can manually check for updates but automatic update check on program start-up can be enabled.
• It can download maximum 5 videos in parallel.
• The software has 5 skins: Green, Pink, Blue, Gray and Orange.

• It has an offline help file that describes the functionality well.
• After downloading a video it automatically removes it from the list.
• Memory usage is minimal.

My Verdict

Movie Saver is clean and easy to use. But I could not download videos from Youtube, Dailymotion and Vimeo using the software. May be a problem specific to me. But the software is from a reputable company known to make good softwares.
